Another lovely image! Amazing stillness - and then the eye catches the seagull, soaring!

And a fine Ash Wednesday sermon too. I was in the same form at school as David Hare - perhaps his experience of daily chapel at Lancing informs Racing Demon. While he was writing it he was corresponding with our old Chaplain C R Campling, later Dean of Ripon!

Thank you Joc for your comment - that is fascinating that you were at school with David Hare. I've only read this one play of his and have found it a useful reference point a number of times over the last few years.
